Biography:
I am a lover, hater, fighter, peacemaker, hot, cold, and everything in between. Yoga and meditation have taught me to love all the different aspects of myself. They don’t put me in a box. I’m human with an array of emotions—joy, excitement, fear, sorrow, anger, contentment—human emotions that are neither right nor wrong. Yes, some are more pleasant than others. As I learn to accept my many varied emotions, I create an intimate relationship with myself that allows me to be more intimate with others. The poet Rupi Kaur writes, “Loneliness is a sign you are in desperate need of yourself.” How can we be intimate with others if we are not with ourselves? I believe we are all in need of ourselves. In my classes, my goal is to create a space where we can all connect with ourselves on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. This connection will in turn have a ripple effect on the world. I teach a variety of yoga styles depending on students’ individual needs. My personal style includes Ashtanga vinyasa, alignment and yin, depending on my energy level and emotional state that day. My motto is “Be the change you want to see in the world”--Mahatma Gandhi. Off the mat, you can find me dancing and hanging with my friends
