Ashlyn Perryman, LCSW, EMDR (she/her)

Mental Health Therapist

Ashlyn is a licensed certified social worker who is passionate about empowering clients to heal, grow in confidence in themselves, and make changes in their lives that are more in line with their values to help them create a more meaningful and purposeful life. She strongly believes in a person-centered, collaborative approach where she works with clients and their families to develop goals for treatment that are individualized to their needs and personal goals and achieve them, empowering clients and their families to acknowledge and utilize their already-existing strengths and resources, encouraging clients that they are the source of their own healing, equipping them with tools and skills to make their desired changes to their lives, and promoting confidence, self-love, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. Ashlyn strongly believes that clients are the experts on their lives and experiences and views her role as a therapist to provide a safe place where clients can heal, realize their worth, learn to advocate for themselves, and become more connected with both themselves and others. With professional experience in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings as well as interning at various domestic violence shelters in the area while she was still in school, Ashlyn has experience with a variety of populations with a wide variety of mental health symptoms. Ashlyn is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and is currently pursuing certification of EMDR, CPT (cognitive processing therapy), and TF-CBT (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy). She has also engaged in some trainings, although not formally trained, in various treatment modalities and considers herself informed about various other treatment modalities, including IFS (internal family systems), numerous somatic therapies, sandtray therapy, and more to address anxious, depressive, and trauma-and-attachment-related symptoms, dissociative symptoms, mood instability, low self-esteem, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, and more. Ashlyn has experience with clients with a variety of backgrounds and believes in the dignity and worth of every person, using a systems perspective to empower clients to love and accept themselves while also acknowledging and validating their experiences with oppressive systems working against them. She is a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community and the Global Majority (people of color) and invites people to bring all parts of themselves and areas of their lives into their sessions. Ashlyn would be honored to have an opportunity to get to know you and views it as a privilege to get to walk with others through their healing journeys. She is only working with adults at this time. In her free time, Ashlyn enjoys spending time with her husband, four beloved pets, friends, and family. Her hobbies include Fishball (a sport originating in Fayetteville that is a hybrid of volleyball, tennis, and dodgeball), soccer, hiking, learning and reading, and playing a variety of games.
